    Properties

    answer: string

The right answer, as a code among the choices: a note's name ("F♯"), an interval (M3), a chord quality (minor), a key (D:major), a scale (dorian). Show it with labels of your own, or the defaults of @hiyve/react-music-theory

    byEar: boolean

Asked by ear: heard first, and seen once answered. Never for a key signature, which is read

    choices: string[]

The answers to choose from, shuffled, the right one among them

    clef: Clef
    inversion: number

0 for root position, 1 for first inversion, and so on

    kind: "chord"
    musicxml: string

The question on its staff, as a one-bar MusicXML score to draw

    notes: Pitch[]

The notes the question is made of, lowest or first first

    play: PlayTask | null

Answered by playing, what to play; null otherwise

    playAnswer: boolean

Answered by playing on an instrument, not by choosing a name

Whether sounds are heard together or one after another

    quality: ChordQuality
    reference: Pitch | null

Asked by ear, the note heard before the question to name it from — the C at or below it — for a note; null for the rest, and for any question not asked by ear

    root: Pitch

The chord's root, whatever its inversion

    sounds: number[]

What the question sounds like, as MIDI numbers — heard once it is answered, or first when it is asked by ear
