HOSTED_SERVER

Hosted Server Guide

Use our hosted MCP servers to connect Claude Desktop to your Hiyve account without self-hosting.

Quick Start

1. Configure Claude Desktop

Add the following to your Claude Desktop configuration file:

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "hiyve": {
      "url": "https://mcp.us-east-1.hiyve.tech/mcp",
      "transport": "streamable-http"
    }
  }
}

2. Restart Claude Desktop

After saving the configuration, restart Claude Desktop.

3. Authenticate

On first connection, Claude Desktop will open a browser window for you to log in to your Hiyve account. The OAuth 2.1 flow is handled automatically.

4. Start Using

Ask Claude questions about your meetings:

"Show my rooms"
"What meetings do I have this week?"
"Summarize my last meeting"
"Who do I collaborate with most?"

Available Regions

Region Base URL Recommended For
US East https://mcp.us-east-1.hiyve.tech North America (East), Europe
US West https://mcp.us-west-2.hiyve.tech North America (West), Asia-Pacific

Choose the region closest to you for best performance.

Endpoints

Endpoint Method Description
/mcp GET, POST Streamable HTTP endpoint (recommended)
/mcp/sse GET Legacy SSE transport (deprecated)
/health GET Health check
/mcp/status GET Server status with tool count and auth methods

Authentication

The hosted server supports three authentication methods:

OAuth 2.1 (Claude Desktop)

This is the default for Claude Desktop. The OAuth flow:

  1. Claude Desktop connects to /mcp
  2. Server returns 401 with OAuth metadata URL
  3. Claude Desktop initiates PKCE authorization flow
  4. You log in via browser
  5. Claude Desktop receives access token
  6. Subsequent requests include the token automatically

No configuration needed - it just works.

MCP Token (API Access)

For programmatic access outside Claude Desktop:

  1. Generate an MCP token in your Hiyve account settings
  2. Include it in requests:
curl -X POST https://mcp.us-east-1.hiyve.tech/mcp \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer <your-64-char-mcp-token>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc": "2.0", "method": "tools/list", "id": 1}'

Email + API Key (Internal)

For internal integrations:

curl -X POST https://mcp.us-east-1.hiyve.tech/mcp \
  -H "x-user-email: your@email.com" \
  -H "X-API-Key: your-org-api-key" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc": "2.0", "method": "tools/list", "id": 1}'

  2. Restart Claude Desktop
  3. Re-authenticate when prompted

  • Wait a few seconds before retrying
  • Reduce query frequency
  • Contact support for higher limits
